What voteinwv.com collects, which is very little, and what happens to it.

The short version
- No cookies, no ad trackers and no accounts.
- I only get your name and email if you send me a message.
- I don't sell or share anything you send me.
Messages you send me
The contact and advertising forms send what you type (your name, email, organization if you give one, your message, and which page you sent it from) to info@voteinwv.com, which forwards it to my email inbox. I use it to reply to you and, for ads, to keep the public record of political ad buyers described on the Advertise page. I keep messages as long as I need them for that, and I don't add you to any mailing list.
Visit statistics
I use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It doesn't use cookies or track you from site to site. It reports totals like which pages were read, the referring site, the country and the type of browser.
Hosting
The site runs on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare handles your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and block attacks. I don't keep my own visitor logs. The fonts are served from this site, so loading a page doesn't contact Google or any other font service.
Finding your districts
On the Get Involved page you can enter your address or use your location to find your districts. The address, or your location rounded to about 10 meters, goes to the U.S. Census Bureau's address lookup, which sends back your county and district numbers. This site doesn't store or log your address or location. The Census Bureau's own privacy policy covers what it does with the request.
Your district numbers are then saved in your browser on your device, so the page opens with your representatives next time. They never leave your device unless you share the page link, which contains only the district numbers. Use Clear on the Get Involved page, or clear this site's data in your browser, to remove them.
Calendars
Downloaded calendar files are made in your browser. If you add a meeting with the Google or Outlook buttons, or subscribe to a county calendar, the meeting details go to that calendar service, and it will check this site for updates. Their privacy policies apply to what they do with it.
Ads
There are no ad networks or tracking scripts on this site. If I ever add one, I'll update this page before it goes live.
Links to other sites
This site links to official election offices, legislatures, county governments and news sources. Their privacy policies apply once you leave this site.
Children
This site is meant for adults and isn't directed at children under 13. I don't knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices
To see or delete a message you sent me, email info@voteinwv.com and I'll take care of it. If this policy changes, the date at the top will change with it.
